CofC Hillel

The College of Charleston Hillel is the hub for Jewish Student Life on campus. Based in the Jewish Studies Center on the corner of Wentworth and Glebe streets in downtown Charleston, CofC Hillel is the only Hillel in the country that operates officially under the auspices of a Jewish Studies Program.

CofC Hillel sponsors bi-weekly meals, Shabbat services, and a variety of student-focused events to create a community and a home-away-from-home for the students. Jewish Life at CofC is much more than just meals and programs: There is an active Challah for Hunger chapter and Holocaust Education Awareness and Remembrance (Hear) group, and both a Jewish Fraternity (Zeta Beta Tau) and Sorority (Sigma Delta Tau) on campus.

CofC Hillel serves as the center of Jewish life for students at the College of Charleston. It is a staff-supported student‐run organization that offers a variety of Jewish‐themed programming for the entire student body as well as a chance for Jewish students to connect with each other in a laid back, supportive environment.
